What do you do at your current firm, and what do you like most about your role?

I am an associate at Peter Meijer Architect, and part of the firm leadership group responsible for managing: marketing research, marketing planning, client and business development, proposals, and promotional activities.  Multi-channel content creation, and long-term strategic planning are two aspects of my role I most enjoy.

What’s an interesting fact about your firm that most people don’t know?

PMA is a leader in building envelope science for historic and existing properties! We have performed over 400 building envelope condition assessments for properties throughout the Pacific Northwest within the last fifteen years. Our process is driven by inquiry and research, seeking appropriate solutions for specific issues, client goals, needs, and project budget.

How has SMPS helped you in your career development?

SMPS has been invaluable to my career development. The professional and educational resources provide by the organizations programming, roundtables, and committees has provided me fundamental marketing and business development tools and strategies I routinely utilize in my current role.

What is one item you cannot live without?

While there are several practical and technological items I cannot live without, I am going to default to the food category. Cheese is something I cannot live without, especially cotswold, triple-cream brie, and pecorino romano.

If you could switch places with anyone for a day, who would you choose?

I recently watched a phenomenal documentary on her, so I am going to go with Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She is beyond a cool lady, and her contributions to gender equality and civil rights have been phenomenal. While I do not think I could handle her workout regimen, it would be interesting to live a day in the life of the Notorious RBG!
