2020 has certainly been a year of unknowns. As 2021 nears, we are all wondering what to expect. Please join us for an economic forecast from Partner and Senior Economist at ECONorthwest, Michael Wilkerson, followed by a robust panel discussion featuring experts in multifamily, commercial, industrial, and affordable housing development. The panel will share their insights about where they see the opportunities in 2021 and beyond.

Panelists/Speakers

Keynote: Michael Wilkerson, Ph.D., Partner & Senior Economist, ECONorthwest
Dr. Michael Wilkerson is a Partner and the Director of Analytics at ECONorthwest. He brings over 15 years of private-sector experience as an economic consultant and as an analyst in the financial services industry. Mike studies urban economics for both public and private sector clients—with a focus on land use, transportation, and real estate development and how they interact with the regional economy. Using a data-driven approach that focuses on spatial analysis, he conducts housing market analyses, development feasibility studies, TOD implementation studies and master plans, economic impact analyses, and provides expert testimony. He regularly presents at national conferences on topics related to real estate economics, including the American Planning Association, the National Multifamily Housing Council, and the Urban Land Institute. Mike is currently an adjunct professor in the Master of Real Estate Development program at Portland State University.  

Kristen Feldhusen, Senior Development Manager, Killian Pacific
Kristen is responsible for all aspects of Killian Pacific’s residential development in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Her responsibilities include oversight of design and development, including securing entitlements and building permits, project scheduling, underwriting, detailed budgeting, and raising capital. Kristen enjoys working on complicated projects, thinking outside the box, and developing solutions in difficult and challenging situations. Kristen received a Bachelor of Arts in Business from the University of San Diego. She has managed development projects for single-family homes, low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise for-sale and for-rent development projects throughout California, Oregon, and Washington.

Kurt Creager, Executive Vice President Pacific Northwest, BRIDGE Housing
Kurt Creager is BRIDGE Housing’s EVP for Development in the Pacific Northwest. For BRIDGE, Kurt originates new development opportunities and manages a growing pipeine of equitable and inclusive housing projects in Oregon and Washington. Kurt has focused on place making and community building through mixed-income and mixed-use development projects in Denver, Northern Virginia, LA, Phoenix, Portland & Seattle. In 2015-2017 Kurt served as Director of the City of Portland’s Housing Bureau. At PHB, Kurt managed the portfolio of 14,000 City-funded housing and established the COP’s Mandatory Inclusionary Housing Program as well as the Office of Landlord-Resident Services.

Sean Rogers, Vice President, IDM
Sean Rogers joined the leadership team at IDM (Invest Develop Manage) in 2014 as Vice President of Commercial Real Estate. In his role, Rogers represents the company’s commercial interests from Longview, WA, to Salem, OR, and everywhere in between. While continually seeking new land and redevelopment opportunities for IDM, Rogers also manages 3 million square feet in industrial properties. He also maintains the company’s retail leasing and management.
